Flying Tigers Academy RPG Here is the RPG (Role playing game) area for =
the FTA.
In this system if you lose a ship you have to buy it again with your own =
money. In order to pay for
our squadrons costs we raid supply convoys. This is all worked out
mathematically, with the formulas on this page. Unfortunately I don't =
know CGI
script so we have to keep track of things in primitive ways. NOTE: This =
game
resets every 2 months. Capturing Ships
The Basics
The Director of The Academy will keep track of our pilots ships, =
warheads,
beams, and money by our own means. We all start with 3 million credits, =
this can
be used to buy any ship within that price range.
How we Earn Money
There are two ways to earn money, the first is through your salary. This =
salary
is taken out of the money we get from our Factory. It is a kind
of reward system, if you do more work you get more money, and the =
easiest way to
do this is by score so to find out how much money you got in a mission =
you times
the score by 2500. We have something called a squad fund as well which =
is for
buying defenses and cap ships and the like... every mission we do the =
squad
earns 10,000,000 from our factory/base. As for the Factory I won't get =
into
making it so that they earn you more than our salaries :) lets just say =
the
figures conveniently match up. We only have one factory and we start =
with it so
its kind of our base until we find something better. Unless it gets =
destroyed we
still have it, and if it is destroyed we can save up cash for a new one, =
or
steal one.
The second way to earn money is to do raids on supply convoys and bacta =
convoys.
Here are the rules for this operation. First of all if you don't win the =
mission
its considered null and void, except for your craft losses, warhead =
uses, and
salary this is counted. Now, to figure out the value of a cargo ships =
cargo, you
times its score (On super ace ai setting) by 15,000. The end figure is =
the value
in credits of its cargo. Note: all cargo ships must be kept veteran ai, =
in order
to get a realistic amount of credits from them. Because of the factor =
that in
real life it would be tough to find cargo convoys to raid you must =
choose two
numbers on a dice and roll it to see if the current mission is a cargo =
raid; if
one of the numbers shows on the dice when you roll it its a cargo =
raid.
Fighters can only be captured when, before you hyper out (quit the =
mission) you
pick up the disabled fighter you want with your own ship. You can only =
take the
fighter you pick up not like the 10 or 20 fighters you may have =
disabled. To
capture a capital ship you must disable it. Then after your mission is =
done a
troop transport will come in to board it (the boarding is pretend e.g. =
you don't
actually do it. NOTE: When a capital ship is captured it is the property =
of the
entire squadron i.e. everyone owns it together.
Rules and Things to Remember
Tigers, this is an honor system, there is no way I can keep someone from
cheating, I'll just have to trust that all members of FTS will keep =
this
fun by not cheating. Also when you buy warheads please keep track of how =
many
you bought, and how many you use. Countermeasures are free, because they =
are so
cheap. You cannot, however, buy one beam system for all your ships :) =
you need a
new one for each ship. As I'm sure you already know once you lose a ship =
you
can't use it again, you must buy another one, so you might want to be =
careful
with your ship. If you lose your ship and don't have the money for =
another you
can take a loan from the squad fund, or if you just don't have enough =
cash for
the ship you want you can take a loan. You also don't have to limit =
yourself to
one ship you may buy as many as you wish. Just as a side note if you =
sell any
ship for money, you lose 20% of its value so if its a t/d it'll sell for
4,000,000.
Another thing is you can fly up to 2 missions by yourself every week. =
You must
record this mission using the film room, and once your done save the =
recording
and e-mail it to The Academy Director at ?
for him to view and make sure you did not cheat.
I will be the one keeping track of the squadrons equipment. So once you =
complete
a mission post up a message on the Campaigns forum telling me what new =
ships and
equipment the squadron has. Every once in a while I'll post up a =
message
on the campaigns forum showing you all what our squadron as a whole =
owns.
Flight Elements
In RPG our squadron is split into flight elements which are groups of =
two pilots
who cover for each other... basically wingmen. Each person will have a =
wingmate
and when the group leader calls says to split into flight elements, they =
will
each go off and perform their jobs together covering for each other as =
they go
along.
